Whoops! I updated the songs listed on the 25th, but didn't update the what's new page or the song database, so those updates aren't showing up until today. However, look for a few more gallery pictures soon from Hawkwood Renaissance Faire outside of Dallas!

Re-notated these songs: The Cat's Jig, Corn Rigs, The Dancing Master (and re-sequenced MIDI due to errors), Down by The Sally Gardens (and sequenced MIDI), Duke of Perth, and The Eagle's Whistle.

Late update..it's been a busy week at the Whistler household, so I didn't get as much done as I'd wanted this week.

Added these songs: All Those Endearing Young Charms (My Lodging's on the Cold Ground), The Boy That Shaved His Father, Brochan Lom, Rondeau, Will You Go To Sheriff Muir?

Re-notated these songs from my old archive (poor quality images): Auld Lang Syne, Ballydesmond Polka #2, Boys of 25 (and re-did MIDI due to errors), Brown Colleen, The Campbells are Coming. I will try and re-notate a minimum of 5 songs a week until all of the old archive images which are of poor quality get fixed. If the image quality looks good to me, I won't bother renotating a song unless one of you writes to me and tells me there's a problem with the music.

Re-wrote the ASP scripts on the songs pages to make changes easier. Also added icons for the low D mp3s.

Added these new songs (with MIDIs): Arkansas Traveler, Country Gardens, Hail to the Chief, Old Mother Oxford (with mp3) The Rakes of Mallow. that's only 5 songs, but that's because of the big update I made on the 6th and the time I spent recording music. Added lyrics to many of the existing songs.

Added MP3s to these songs: Duffy the Dancer, Don Oiche Ud I mBethel, The Gay Gordons, Kookaburra, London Bridge, Mairi's Wedding (and low..i'll have these visible by next Friday!), March (Mozart), the Muffin Man.

It's been a busy weekend! I worked hard to make a few new songs available before friday, because I wanted to spend this week writng a search engine for the database. That way, you can quickly find songs by alternative titles, lyrics, and so forth. (note, as of 11:20pm central time, the search engine is online and functional! It wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be...if only I were as good a whistler as I am a programmer!)

Added these new songs: Balmoral Castle, The Oyster Wives Rant, The Boston March, The Blue-Eyed Stranger, Constant Billy, Governor King's March, The Kilt is My Delight, When the Saints Come Marching In, Yankee Doodle, Cockles and Mussels (our 100th song!), and Barabara Allen.

Re-notated these songs: March (Mozart), Minuet (Bach), Shepherd's Hey (and re-classified it as an English dance), Scarborough Fair (also added MIDI and updated MP3), Silent Night (added MIDI), Kitty's Gone A Milking (added MIDI), Wayfaring Stranger (added MP3), Loch Lomond, (added MIDI), and Katie Bairdie (added MIDI).

Added MP3s to Siubhan ni Dhuibhir and Kookaburra.

MP3's on the Chieftain Low D are here! Added low recordings of The Four Marys, Auld Lang Syne, Blow the Man Down, The Brown Colleen, Uir-Chill a' Chreagain, and The Eagle's Whistle. It'll be a few days before I can update the ASP scripts to show them on the song lists, but rest assured, they're there, and will be available soon!

Added these new songs: The Blarney Pilgrim, Uir-Chill a' Chreagain (with mp3), Dargason, The First Noel (with mp3), The Fool's Jig, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (with mp3), Hark the Herald Angels Sing (with mp3), Maggie Pickens (with mp3), O Come All Ye Faithful (with mp3), and We Wish you A Merry Christmas. Yes, I know that's a lot of Christmas Carols in August, but I only had that sheet music on diskette, and I wanted to get to them before I started adding music that I had in paper format. Also, I updated the sheet music and added MIDI files for these songs: Casadh An tSugain, London Bridge, Mairi's Wedding, Don Oiche Ud I mBeithil, and Rufty Tufty (which is a duet, and now notated as such). Fixed a few misspellings in the database.

Added the picture gallery with 16 pics. More pics will come as I take them. I've gotten some new notation software, Finale 2000. It's the bomb! Better than the software I bought last weekend. I've already got nearly a dozen songs notated ready for Friday's song update. It'll even do complex midi exports (part of the reason why I don't have all the songs in MIDI format). Check Casadh An tSugain to see it in action. Woo!
